An Exploratory Walk for the Tookany Trail from Jenkintown to Elkins Park

This exploratory walking tour visits a proposed alignment for a portion of one of our region’s major Circuit Trails – the Tookany-Tacony-Frankford Trail.  Join Bob Thomas, an architect who has led his firm’s role in the development of hundreds of miles of trails, as we explore a possible route for the Tookany Trail.  We’ll meet for coffee and a look at maps at 9am at the Sumatra Café, departing no later than 10am to explore options along the Tookany Creek Corridor connecting Ralph Morgan Park, the Parry Bird Sanctuary, Wall Park, Ogontz Park, High School Park, Gimbel Field and then the Elkins Park town center.  An optional lunch at a local restaurant with a discussion of trail development in Montgomery County may be held, time permitting.
