A fun, family-friendly community bike ride through town, featuring decorated bikes, costumes, and lights — all ages and abilities welcome!

 

📅 Date: 

Saturday, October 25th, 2025

🕕 Time: 

Meet at 6:00 PM, roll out around 6:15 PM (just after sunset)

📍 Location:

 Jenkintown Town Square, 703 Greenwood

🎯 Purpose:

To raise awareness for safer streets for pedestrians and bikes, and to bring the community together for a joyful, low-stress ride.

🛑 Safety Notes:
  • Helmets required
  • No training wheels or balance bikes, please (to keep the group safe), but we will be holding a “Tots Ride” at the beginning just around Town Square for little ones!
  • Deck out your ride in lights — it’s part of the fun! (lights required, we’ll have some extras)

  • We will have experienced safety marshals at front and back of the group. Please have your party listen closely to their instructions.
  • Please DO NOT go ahead of the group leads or behind the last marshal.
  • Parents – Please keep a close eye on your children if they are riding adjacent to you and ensure they take the hills very slowly. Safety is our biggest concern!
  • Ensure your bike is in good working order prior to the event. 
  • Event will be canceled with rain or ice.

In agreeing to this release for myself or for the named applicant, if applicant is under the age of 18, I understand that participation in Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia (“BCGP”) activities, including rides, is at my own risk. I acknowledge that I am aware of the risks and dangers inherent with such activities and knowingly and willfully assume the risk of injury resulting there from and approach and encounter this risk freely and of my own accord. I understand that supervision, training or oversight may not be provided by BCGP with respect to all sponsored events and activities. Participation in BCGP activities constitutes my representation that (1) I am in good health, (2) I agree to obey all traffic laws and regulations and practice safety and courtesy in cycling, (3) I agree to wear an approved safety helmet on all BCGP sponsored rides, (4) my bicycle is in good and safe mechanical condition, and (5) I acknowledge that BCGP and its directors, officers, members, contributors, sponsors, ride leaders and other event coordinators of BCGP are not insurers of my personal safety or property and do not assume any liability for personal injury or property loss sustained during any BCGP sponsored events or activities. By signing below and in consideration for being allowed to participate in any BCGP sponsored event or activity, I fully release BCGP and its directors, officers, members, contributors, sponsors, ride leaders and other event coordinators of BCGP from any liability specifically including but not limited to liability for their negligent acts, stemming from or relating to past or future BCGP sponsored events or activities. I hereby give permission to BCGP and its designees and assignees, to take and use testimonial comments, photographs and/or video relating directly and indirectly to me, my family, or subjects under my control, and to copyright, exhibit, reproduce, publish or distribute them at any time to promote BCGP. I also release and discharge each of the above parties from any claims or demands in any way relating to the use of these photographs/videos. I have read this notice and understand that I am releasing certain legal rights that I may have. I understand that I assume all risks in participating in BCGP sponsored events or activities and voluntarily sign this release evidencing my acceptance of these provisions and conditions. If I provide an email, I understsand that it will be used to subscribe me to BCGP’s Cyclegram newsletter. This waiver and release shall be effective for any and all activities with the club that I participate in at any time after I sign this document. MINORS: A Parent or Legal Guardian must sign on your behalf. I HAVE READ THE ABOVE STATEMENTS AND UNDERSTAND THAT MY SIGNATURE REPRESENTS AGREEMENT TO ALL OF THESE CONDITIONS.
